The liver is a vital human organ. This is a real biochemical laboratory, in which there is constant work to neutralize toxins, excess fats and other harmful substances entering the body.

The liver performs more than 500 functions, and about 20 million chemical reactions occur in it per minute. It is not surprising that even minor violations in its work affect the entire body. Of course, one of the main functions of the liver is cleansing. Almost 95% of all foreign substances that enter our body or are formed in it during vital activity are neutralized by this organ. However, protecting us from toxins, the liver itself is attacked – harmful substances have a disastrous effect on its cells and become the main cause of its failures. The liver works best in children – after all, the child's body, which is not yet strong, needs special protection from harmful substances. With age, its activity decreases, and the number of our bad habits increases.
Causes of liver diseases
Medications, alcohol, overweight and fast food can cause a "blow to the liver" already at the age of 25-30 years. In addition, today the level of beer alcoholism is steadily increasing, which is common, in particular, among young people and leads to the so-called alcoholic liver disease. Fatty liver damage (hepatosis) also spreads at a high rate due to improper nutrition and lifestyle. All this leads to the fact that today chronic liver diseases are on one of the first places in terms of prevalence in the world – in Russia, for example, more than half of the population suffers from them.
Liver disorders can be associated with:
1.improper nutrition (a large amount of smoked, spicy and fatty foods on the menu);
2.alcohol abuse; prolonged use of synthetic drugs;
3.physical inactivity (decreased motor activity);
4.prolonged lack of trace elements and vitamins in the body;
5.abundant nutrition late in the evening.
When does the liver need help?
Most people whose liver needs help do not even know about it, because the tissue of this organ has practically no nerve endings. Chronic liver diseases, as a rule, do not manifest themselves for a long time at all. If symptoms occur (weakness, bad mood, decreased appetite), a person can blame everything on fatigue, lack of vitamins and other reasons.
What happens in the body with a planted liver? First of all, there is an accumulation of toxic metabolic products that are transferred with the blood flow to all vital organs and systems and cause their long-term disorders. In liver diseases, the level of bilirubin, cholesterol, bile acids, ammonia increases in the body, the exchange of fibrinogen (a protein necessary for blood clotting), vitamins C and K is disrupted, which leads to blood clotting pathology and increased vascular permeability. Externally, intoxication of the body manifests itself in increased irritability or, conversely, inhibition, resentment, suspicion. In both cases, a person may have a constant headache, there may be a tendency to faint.

How to keep the liver healthy?
First of all, watch your lifestyle and rest more. Fortunately, the liver has an amazing property – it is able to recover in a very short period of time. No other organ is capable of this anymore, and this once again proves how important the role of the liver is assigned by nature. In case of a violation of the liver, it is necessary to follow simple rules:
1.give up bad habits;
2.do special gymnastics;
3.switch to a proper diet rich in vitamins C, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, PP and trace elements (selenium and zinc), amino acids and fatty acids.
Scientists have proven that proper nutrition is the key to the smooth operation of this vital organ.
1.Start the morning with a plate of oatmeal porridge cooked on water. To it, you can add slices of apple, honey, a few walnuts, a tablespoon of dry crushed milk thistle seeds.
2.Add products containing antioxidants to your diet: black currant, rosehip, strawberry, sweet red pepper and citrus fruits.
3.Every day, drink a glass of ryazhenka, kefir, yogurt, eat a jar of low-fat yogurt or light cottage cheese. Fermented milk products contribute to the breakdown of fats, thereby unloading the liver.
4.Drink a sufficient amount of liquid – it helps to wash out the toxins.
5.Arrange fasting days – eat light vegetable salads, fruits and herbal teas.

Despite the regenerative properties of the liver, it is quite difficult to cure chronic diseases of this organ. Since they do not make themselves felt for a long time, it is better to regularly prevent liver diseases and maintain its active state with the help of certain foods and biologically active substances. The peculiarities of modern life, ecology and nutrition prove that the liver of each of us needs such care and support.
